Country music legend Garth Brooks is set to unveil his “Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk” in Nashville, marking a significant addition to the city’s vibrant music scene. In an interview with Jane Pauley, Brooks shared his excitement about the grand opening, slated for next week.
Purchasing the three-story, 40,000+ square foot property in December 2021, Brooks named the venue after his iconic 1990 hit. He views this venture as a way to give back to the town that significantly contributed to his career, stating, “If you’re lucky enough to sell some records in this town, you owe this town.”
Brooks emphasized the inclusivity of his honky tonk, underscoring his commitment to unity and love in a time when division is rampant. He mentioned that even beer brands inside the honky tonk won’t be discriminated against, reflecting his mission to welcome all music lovers.
The honky tonk, distinct from a regular bar, promises a larger space with a dance floor, resembling a dance hall. As the anticipation builds, fans and locals eagerly await the opening of this new downtown Nashville attraction, poised to be a hub for country music and dance.
