Country music legend Garth Brooks has unveiled his latest venture, the ‘Friends in Low Places’ Bar & Honky-Tonk on Nashville’s Lower Broadway, a heartfelt tribute to the city that fueled his illustrious career. Unlike typical celebrity-owned venues, Brooks emphasizes that this establishment is not a vanity project but a dedication to Nashville and a platform for emerging artists.
Brooks, 61, shared his gratitude and intention behind the honky-tonk at a recent press conference. The venue, named after his iconic hit, is designed as a sophisticated space featuring a retractable stage, state-of-the-art sound system, and a panoramic view of Lower Broadway. Its grand opening was marked by an intimate performance by Brooks, streamed on Amazon Prime.
While Brooks doesn’t plan to perform regularly at the venue, he aims to offer a stage for aspiring musicians. He fondly reminisced about his early career days, contrasting them with the honky-tonk’s luxurious ambiance.
Scheduled for a phased opening, ‘Friends in Low Places’ will eventually offer services across five floors, including the rooftop bar ‘Oasis’. Brooks’ initiative stands as a symbol of his appreciation for Nashville and his commitment to nurturing future talent in the heart of country music.
