From Liverpool to Nashville: Ringo Starr’s Opry Performance Bridges Musical Worlds

On February 21, 2025, Ringo Starr made his debut at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, blending his rock heritage with country flair. The 84-year-old former Beatles drummer performed a set that included both Beatles classics and selections from his recent country album, Look Up.

Starr’s performance featured collaborations with notable artists such as Molly Tuttle and Ketch Secor. The evening began with “Time on My Hands,” a track from Look Up, followed by a rendition of Buck Owens’ “Act Naturally,” a song Starr originally recorded with the Beatles. The show concluded with a spirited version of “With a Little Help from My Friends,” featuring guests like T Bone Burnett, Mickey Guyton, and Ricky Skaggs.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Starr remarked, “As you may have noticed I dressed up a bit tonight. I’m a cowboy inside. This is a great honor and an incredible moment for me. It’s just a dream to end up here.”

This performance underscores Starr’s enduring versatility and his seamless integration into the country music scene, further solidifying his legendary status across musical genres.
