Foreigner, fronted by Kelly Hansen, has announced an exciting 2024 concert tour with Styx, titled the “Renegades & Juke Box Heroes” trek. This tour, commencing on June 11, 2024, in Michigan, is a part of Foreigner’s two-year farewell journey, emphasizing that the days of extensive touring will conclude post-2024.
Hansen emphasizes that this was always a planned two-year farewell, aimed at reaching fans across different locations. The tour represents a shift from the band’s previous intense touring schedule, marking a significant change in their musical journey.
The current Foreigner lineup, alongside founding guitarist Mick Jones, includes Jeff Pilson on bass, Michael Bluestein on keyboards, guitarist Bruce Watson, Chris Frazier on drums, and guitarist Luis Maldonado. The band’s dynamic has evolved, especially with Jones’ participation being dependent on his health, post-heart surgery in 2012.
With the band’s history dating back to its formation and success in the 1970s, the farewell tour is a nod to their legacy in rock music. Foreigner’s final show location is still under consideration, with the band booking well into 2024. This tour not only marks an end of an era for Foreigner but also a celebration of their lasting impact on rock music.
