On Wednesday, May 26th, music festival Boston Calling made the very exciting announcement that that Rage Against the Machine and the Foo Fighters will be headlining the festival’s return for Memorial Day Weekend next year. The dates are slated for May 27th-29th 2022.
According to Boston Calling’s website, there is still another headliner to be announced. The lineup will also consist of more than 60 performers. Additional artists will be announced in the coming months.
“We couldn’t be happier to return in 2022 and deliver a full-scale festival with two of the world’s most celebrated rock bands as our headliners,” said festival co-founder and CEO Brian Appel. “We’ve spent the past year working on a festival that our fans can really look forward to, and we’re so excited to share more news and surprises as we get into next year.”
The two bands were originally scheduled to perform at the 2020 festival, but as with all other major music events, it was canceled due to the global coronavirus pandemic. The show will be part of RATM’s Public Service Announcement reunion tour, their first in more than 10 years. The tour, like Boston Calling 2020, had been delayed due to COVID-19.
Limited early bird three-day tickets are available now via bostoncalling.com, starting at $299.99.
