FIFA World Cup Fans are Obsessed with Hidden Valley Ranch

The United States is a tapestry of various condiments.

Mustards of endless varieties, ketchups, sauces and aiolis, and you can slather as much of it on your food as you want. But as Fox News reports, no condiment has captured the minds and taste buds of World Cup visitors quite like ranch dressing, and the folks at Kraft worked overtime in the lab to make sure fans can mule their calorie-packed bounty back home.

In fact, it’s become so popular, that international travelers are trying to take big bottles of it home. It’s become such a big phenomenon, that TSA recently had to make a (kind of) tongue-in-cheek social media post reminding travelers that ranch dressing is subject to the agency’s carry-on liquid restrictions.

“One World. One Ranch.
Who knew dip-lomacy could be achieved through addressing the obvious: ranch is the king of condiments. The world is slowly discovering ranch pairs perfectly with pizza, chicken wings, fries, onion rings, quesadillas, crackers, chips, vegetables, and the list just keeps growing. Are you kicking around the idea of flying home with your favorite dip? If you’re traveling within the U.S., make sure to keep your carry-on sauces to 3.4oz or less and place any larger containers in your checked bags.”

Well, Kraft has offered a solution: TSA-compliant ranch packets. As the company recently posted on Instagram, “Some visitors leave with souvenirs. Others leave with America’s favorite dressing. Introducing Kraft TSA Compliant Ranch, a travel-friendly way to bring the taste of America home. Stay tuned for details on how to get yours.”

As Scripps News reports, a YouGov poll taken earlier this year found ranch was the only salad dressing that a majority of Americans said they had in their homes. Only 39 percent said they had Italian dressing. The only condiments more popular than ranch were ketchup, peanut butter, mayonnaise, mustard, jam or jelly, honey, and barbecue sauce.

So, have your ranch and eat it too – just make sure you pack it in your checked luggage if you’re planning on taking it to your home country.
