Fetty Wap Says 50 Cent Was His Biggest Support Behind Bars

Fetty Wap recently reflected on the pivotal role 50 Cent played in supporting him through one of the toughest chapters of his life. In a candid conversation on The Breakfast Club, the New Jersey rapper credited the Queens native with providing both financial assistance and mental support while he was serving time in federal prison.

Fetty Wap, best known for hits like Trap Queen and My Way, spent over three years incarcerated on drug trafficking charges before being released early into home confinement in January 2026. During that period, he said many in the industry faded away, but 50 Cent stayed consistent. Fetty described how 50 Cent regularly checked in on him, helped with money when needed, and encouraged him to stay focused on his music and his future.

This level of backing was a meaningful lifeline during his incarceration, Fetty said, especially as he navigated the emotional strain of being behind bars. As he works on rebuilding his career outside of prison, his gratitude toward 50 Cent’s unwavering support remains central to his comeback story. With his early release and renewed focus, Fetty Wap aims to honor that loyalty and use his experiences to inspire and uplift audiences as he returns to music.
