Emmy Forecast 2025: Can “Severance,” “The Studio,” and “Adolescence” Sweep the Big Night?

As Emmy season heats up, frontrunners “Severance,” “The Studio,” and “Adolescence” are poised to dominate — but history reminds us that nominations don’t always equal wins.

Apple TV+’s “Severance” leads the drama pack with 27 nods, bolstered by a gripping finale and standout performances by Adam Scott and Britt Lower. Yet HBO Max’s dark horse “The Pitt” could disrupt the narrative with momentum behind Noah Wyle’s comeback arc and impressive support from the Academy’s biggest branches.

In comedy, the satirical juggernaut “The Studio” is the one to beat. With 23 nominations and Seth Rogen up for four individual Emmys, the show may match or surpass “The Bear’s” breakout success — especially with its mix of industry satire and star-studded buzz.

Meanwhile, the limited series category is unexpectedly fierce. “The Penguin” flexes major star power, but British newcomer “Adolescence” is gaining steam with emotional performances and sharp writing. Colin Farrell and Michelle Williams lead tight acting races, but underdogs like Stephen Graham and Cristin Milioti are within striking distance.

With final voting kicking off August 18, campaigns are underway and narratives are shifting fast. If Emmy history has taught us anything, it’s to expect the unexpected — and brace for surprises on September 14.
