It’s a new chapter for rapper Eminem, who is about to take on a new title: Grandpa. The 51-year-old music icon, known for his deeply personal lyrics and tough persona, shared a touching moment in the newly released music video for his song “Temporary” that has fans buzzing with excitement.
In the emotional video, Eminem—real name Marshall Mathers—showcased a collection of old home videos featuring his daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, from her childhood. But it was the heartwarming surprise toward the end of the video that truly stole the show. The 28-year-old influencer and podcaster revealed to her famous father that she and her husband, Evan McClintock, are expecting their first child together.
In the video, Hailie hands her dad a blue football jersey that reads “Grandpa” along with the number 1. She also includes a sonogram image, confirming the exciting news. The clip captures Eminem’s emotional reaction—his jaw drops, his eyes widen, and he tears up upon learning that he’s about to become a grandfather.
This announcement marks yet another milestone in Hailie and Evan’s relationship. On February 4, 2023, Hailie Jade shared the news of her engagement to McClintock after six years of dating. The couple met while attending Michigan State University in 2016, and their relationship has since been a source of joy for both Hailie and her family.
“Casual weekend recap … 😭💗 2.4.23 💍 I love you @evanmcclintock11,” Hailie captioned an Instagram post announcing the engagement, which featured a photo of McClintock down on one knee, along with a close-up of her stunning diamond ring.
The proposal had an extra special touch: McClintock asked for Eminem’s blessing beforehand. During an episode of Hailie’s Just a Little Shady podcast, McClintock recalled how, during Hailie’s birthday party in December 2022, he followed Eminem downstairs to ask for permission to propose. “I saw your dad go downstairs, and I’m like, ‘I gotta do it right now, or I’m not doing it today, and I’m gonna have to schedule another time,’” he shared. Luckily, the moment worked out perfectly, and McClintock received Eminem’s approval.
Eminem had previously expressed his satisfaction with Hailie’s relationship in a 2020 interview on Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson. “No babies. Just a boyfriend. She’s doing good. She’s made me proud for sure,” he said, showing his approval of her choices and happiness in life.
More than a year after the engagement, Hailie Jade and Evan McClintock tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by friends and family. Hailie shared the news with her followers on Instagram, posting a series of stunning wedding photos and writing, “Waking up a wife this week 🥲💍. We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration.”
“So so many happy tears were shed, laughs & smiles were had, & so much love was felt. Evan and I are feeling so grateful for all of the family & friends that traveled to support us and be a part of this new chapter of our lives as husband & wife 🤍.”
Now, with the announcement of their first child on the way, it’s clear that this new chapter is only just beginning. As Eminem prepares to welcome his first grandchild, the excitement surrounding his family continues to grow, with fans eager to follow the journey of Hailie, Evan, and their expanding family.
