More than two decades after his first win, Eminem is back on top. At the 2025 American Music Awards, the rap icon was crowned Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist, marking his first AMA win in over 10 years.
“AMAs, what’s up?” Em said in his acceptance speech. “Favorite male hip-hop artist — thank you. I think it’s been 23 years since I won my first AMA and I’m 24 years old. That’s crazy.”
Fans erupted online as the 51-year-old rapper delivered his signature dry humor while genuinely thanking those who voted. His last AMA win came in 2014 for The Marshall Mathers LP 2, making this comeback even sweeter.
Eminem’s return was cemented in 2024 with The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), a concept album that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, earning 281,000 units in its first week — the biggest opening for a rap album that year.
Known for pushing boundaries and reinventing himself, Eminem’s resurgence has reminded fans and critics alike that he remains one of the most formidable forces in hip-hop history — and now, officially, again an award-winning one.
