Eminem, with more than 142,000 votes, is currently the lead artist in this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame fan tally, which totaled up to one million votes. Fans have until April 29 to cast their votes.
Following behind are Duran Duran with more than 119,000 votes, Pat Benatar with more than 112,000 votes, Dolly Parton with more than 95,000 votes, and Eurythmics with more than 73,000.
The rest of the pool, including Lionel Richie, Judas Priest, Carly Simon, Rage Against the Machine, Devo, A Tribe Called Quest, Dionee Warwick, Kate Bush, New York Dolls, Beck, MC5, and Fela Kuti all have under 50,000 votes.
The top five acts selected make up a “fan ballot” consisting of this public vote and will be counted among the 1000+ ballots sent to artists, historians, and music industry professionals.
The Rock Hall’s 2022 class will be announced in May, although further details about the event itself have yet to be detailed. Earlier this year, the ceremony’s director, Joe Gallen, said that it will be held in Los Angeles for the first time since 2013.
