Eminem has just dropped his highly anticipated new track “Houdini,” accompanied by a vibrant music video directed by Rich Lee. Both the song and video harken back to the rapper’s 2002 smash hit “Without Me,” complete with nostalgic references and fresh twists.
The “Houdini” music video is packed with celebrity cameos, featuring appearances from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Pete Davidson, and comedian Shane Gillis, among others. Eminem even revisits his iconic Robin costume from the “Without Me” video, adding a playful nod to his earlier work. The clip also includes an army of wannabe Slim Shadys, reminiscent of Eminem’s memorable 2000 MTV Video Music Awards performance.
Prior to the song’s release, Eminem teased fans with a video featuring magician David Blaine. In the teaser, Blaine performs a shocking trick by eating a wine glass, while Eminem quips, “Well, for my last trick, I’m gonna make my career disappear.”
“Houdini” comes as Eminem continues to build anticipation for his upcoming album, tentatively titled The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). The new LP will follow his 2020 release, Music to Be Murdered By. While a release date has not yet been announced, fans can expect it to drop this summer.
With “Houdini,” Eminem proves once again that his creativity and influence remain undiminished, blending nostalgia with innovation to captivate both old fans and new listeners. Watch the music video for “Houdini” below and stay tuned for more details on his forthcoming album.
