The country crossover hit has now spent 15 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the longest-running chart topper by a solo female artist on a non-holiday song without a featured collaborator. The accomplishment moves the single ahead of classic chart giants including Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together,” both of which previously held the mark with 14-week runs.
Originally released on Langley’s sophomore album Dandelion, “Choosin’ Texas” steadily built momentum before reaching the summit of the Hot 100 in February. Since then, it has maintained an extraordinary grip on listeners across streaming platforms, radio, and digital sales.
The song was co-written by Langley alongside Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and JoyBeth Taylor, continuing a creative partnership that has helped elevate Langley into one of country music’s fastest-rising stars.
