Elizabeth Olsen has stepped into a brand-new role: motherhood.
The 37-year-old actress has welcomed her first child with husband Robbie Arnett, 34, marking a major new chapter for a couple that has largely chosen to keep its personal life away from the Hollywood spotlight.
Olsen was seen in Los Angeles on August 15 carrying the newborn in a white baby carrier. The appearance comes roughly two months after her pregnancy became public when she was photographed in Los Angeles with a visible baby bump.
For Olsen and Arnett, keeping such an important moment relatively private fits a familiar pattern.
The actress and musician have spent years maintaining a low-key relationship despite Olsen’s international fame. The couple became engaged in 2019 and quietly eloped before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Their marriage itself initially stayed so far under the radar that Olsen surprised some fans when she casually referred to Arnett as her husband during a 2021 interview.
The pair’s preference for a quieter life has continued as their careers have developed. Olsen has previously described herself and Arnett as more introverted than extroverted, with evenings at home fitting their style better than glamorous nights around Los Angeles.
Now those evenings at home are likely to look a little different.
The couple has not publicly revealed their baby’s name or sex, maintaining the privacy that has characterized much of their relationship.
Olsen enters motherhood after building a career that has stretched from acclaimed independent films to one of Hollywood’s biggest franchises. She became internationally recognized as Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, through her appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the hit television series “WandaVision.”
This latest milestone, however, is happening largely outside the cameras.
After years of balancing global fame with a notably private personal life, Olsen and Arnett are beginning their newest adventure together as first-time parents.
