Ed Sheeran is Planning 5 More Albums, Even a Posthumous Album He Has Already Started

Ed Sheeran recently spoke with Rolling Stone to talk about his final album. Despite the release of his Subtract album on May 5th, Sheeran has already planned his next five album releases, as well as, a posthumous collection that will continue to get updated throughout his life.

Sheeran stated, “I want to slowly make this album that is quote-unquote ‘perfect’ for the rest of my life, adding songs here and there. And just have it in my will that after I die, it comes out.”

Sheeran also spoke about the work he has done with Aaron Dessner on Subtract. He explained how he had to actually pull three tracks off of Subtract due to them feeling like the beginning of a different musical journey. Stating, “It was very quickly seen that we were making two different things, I have no goals for the record. I just want to put it out.”

Meanwhile, Sheeran will release his latest single, “Eyes Closed” on Friday March 24th. Which was described by Rolling Stone as being built “around a pinging pizzicato riff that builds to an octave-jumping chorus as big as anything in Sheeran’s catalog.”
