Dunkin’s Summer Drop is Ready Now

The first breezy days of summer are still (officially) a month away, but Dunkin’ is ready to keep you caffeinated (and hydrated) during all your upcoming warm-weather adventures.

As Food & Wine reports, Dunkin’ is welcoming the start of summer with three new menu items, enlisting a lineup of big-name celebrities. From a fresh guava drink to their latest take on a springtime flavor, there’s plenty of on-brand indulgence to dig into. And as a bonus, the brand is incorporating some lighthearted fun (and by way of some household names) to its $6 Meal Deal.

“At Dunkin’, we’re all about bringing a little more fun — and a lot more value — to our guests’ day,” Jill McVicar Nelson, chief marketing officer at Dunkin’, said in an interview with Food & Wine. “We had a blast teaming up with some familiar faces to celebrate our $6 Meal Deal in a way that’s true to Dunkin’: playful and always bringing a wink to our guests’ day.”

Two new drinks are joining the current lineup, the brand confirms, along with a new pastry. The brand-new Tropical Guava Dunkin’ Refresher is described as a “vibrant, fruit-forward sip” with B vitamins and a jolt of energy. (Medium Refreshers typically contain around 100 milligrams of caffeine.) Dunkin’ also introduces the Pistachio Signature Latte, which reimagines the existing Pistachio Swirl as a creamy, espresso-based beverage. Meanwhile, the Iced Strawberry Lemon Loaf adds a fruity twist to the classic treat.

Food blogger Markie Devo leaked the new menu at the beginning of April and speculated that app-exclusive Caramel Oat Shakin’ Espresso and Pistachio Shakin’ Espresso could also be on the horizon. But fortunately, the fan-favorite Dunkalatte and $6 Meal Deal — now with bacon — aren’t going anywhere, and Dunkin’ enlisted some big names to spread the word.

The Massachusetts-based brand enlisted stars like James Marsden, Charles Melton, Tramell Tillman, Gavin Casalegno, Dylan Efron, and Zarna Garg to emphasize the significance of the value deal. In the 90-second slot, each person confesses their deepest thoughts and vulnerable feelings to their Dunkin’ representative. (If you’ve ever worked the drive-thru for any major chain, this oversharing bit might feel a little too accurate.) “I was once described as hauntingly symmetrical,” Severance’s Tramell Tillman, who has been generally lauded for his charmingly good looks and uncanny acting chops, shares in the skit. “I carry that burden in silence.”

The commercial positions the $6 meal deal as “cheaper than therapy” — which, for those who have fielded out-of-network bills lately, is unfortunately true. Of course, Dunkin’ is further playing into that industry-wide value game with a slew of new member promos this May.

Among these perks, you can snag a box of 10 Munchkins for just $2 during the first half of the month. (A preferred choice for that mid-afternoon slump at the office.) Starting May 16, visitors can also order a light lunch with a Ham & Swiss Pretzel Slider for $3 when purchased with any beverage. Additionally, reward members can still earn 100 extra points on mobile orders every Monday in May. Call that a value meal.

Whether you’re hitting Dunkin’ on your next drive to the beach or simply dreaming of warmer days at your desk, there are many summertime flavors to explore on your next beverage run.
