Drake Turns Up at Ella Langley Show and Sings Along to “Choosin’ Texas”

Drake apparently has no problem crossing genre lines when the right song comes along.

The hip-hop superstar turned up at Ella Langley’s sold-out Dandelion Tour stop at Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas, on Saturday, August 22, and he wasn’t exactly keeping a low profile.

As Langley performed her massive hit “Choosin’ Texas,” Drake could be seen singing and dancing along. His enthusiastic reaction even made its way onto the arena’s video screens, giving the crowd an unexpected crossover moment between two artists who have spent plenty of time near the top of the charts.

The concert appearance was not Drake’s first public show of support for Langley.

Just days earlier, he dropped into the comments on one of her Instagram posts and praised her songwriting, describing her pen as “goated.” He had also previously played “Choosin’ Texas” while DJing in Houston.

That support is particularly notable because Langley and Drake have found themselves competing for some of the same chart territory. “Choosin’ Texas” has developed into a crossover powerhouse, spending 18 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Langley appears to appreciate Drake’s catalog as well. She recently shared a TikTok video lip-syncing to “HYFR,” his collaboration with Lil Wayne.

Naturally, the mutual admiration has listeners wondering whether the country singer and Toronto rapper could eventually take things from social media and concert appearances into a recording studio.

Fans have already begun calling for a collaboration, but for now, there has been no confirmation that the two are working on music together.

What is clear is that Drake has become one very high-profile member of Langley’s rapidly expanding audience. If nothing else, his Arkansas appearance proved that “Choosin’ Texas” can get even one of hip-hop’s biggest stars singing along.
