Drake Adds $10,000 to Toronto’s “Drake Look-Alike Contest” Prize Pot

Toronto just got a little more Drizzy. A Drake-themed look-alike contest in the rapper’s hometown received an unexpected upgrade when the artist himself contributed $10,000 to the prize pool.

The event, titled the “Drake Eras Lookalike Contest,” celebrated creativity and paid homage to the different styles and aesthetics the Hotline Bling rapper has rocked throughout his career. Organized by Casuals Cakery, the contest took place on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Toronto’s Apt 200.

Drake’s Surprise Contribution
Drake reached out to the bakery through Instagram before the event, delivering the jaw-dropping announcement. In his direct message, Drake wrote:
“I’m adding 10 bands to the look alike contest as the main prize.”

Casuals Cakery, understandably overwhelmed, shared their ecstatic reaction on social media:
“Just give me a min to stop hyperventilating this moment … I can barely type and a whole shock went through my body. But yes this is true and real & I hope the Drake doppelgängers ready. LETSSSSSSSS GOOOOOOO.”

Before Drake stepped in, the winner’s original prize consisted of the “Certified Toronto Manz Pack,” which included a bottle of Hennessy, a pack of Backwoods, and other unspecified items.

A Night to Remember
Footage from the contest, shared on Instagram by the host, showed participants embracing Drake’s various iconic looks and entertaining the crowd. Drake himself confirmed his involvement, sharing clips from the event on his Instagram Stories and adding, “I love this city,” along with crying-laughing emojis.
