Although the live ‘Grammy Salute to Music Legends,’ celebration actually took place on July 14th of this year at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, you’ll be able to relive the moment on PBS in just a few weeks. Imagine, the Monkees’ Micky Dolenz, Neil Diamond and a list of other stars are all included in the Grammy Salute to Music Legends PBS rebroadcast special this October 5th. By the way, Neil wrote one of the Monkees biggest hits “Daydream Believer” in the md-60s.
The honorees this year at the ‘Grammy Salute to Music Legends’ included Tina Turner, Emmylou Harris, The Meters the New Orleans funk group, session great (drums) Hal Blaine, Trisha Yearwood and Neil Diamond. The night is like this; a hall of fame celebration that has an inductee sing a sing in their honor before they speak! Look for songs from Herb Alpert, the Meters, Sammy Hagar and Van Halen’s Michael Anthony, and Emmylou Harris.
You won’t want to miss ‘Grammy Salute to Music Legends’ October 5th on your local PBS station.
