Dolly Parton Fires Back at Health Rumors: “I Ain’t Dead Yet”

Dolly Parton recently put swirling health speculations to rest in a candid video published on her social media. At age 79, the country legend reassured fans that she’s “not dying” and jokingly declared, “I ain’t dead yet.”

The message came shortly after her sister, Freida Parton, requested prayers in an online post, which many interpreted as a sign of serious illness. In response, Dolly appeared on camera in full makeup and costume—filming for a Grand Ole Opry commercial—and addressed rumors directly: “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here.”

Parton admitted that she has faced health challenges, a consequence of neglecting her own well-being during and after her husband Carl Dean’s final illness. But the tone was firm and resilient: “I’m not ready to die yet … I ain’t done working,” she added, reaffirming her intention to continue her creative pursuits.

Though she has postponed upcoming Las Vegas concerts, Dolly assured fans the delay stems from treating health matters—not stepping away from the spotlight. For supporters, her bold proclamation isn’t just a denial—it’s a reminder that legends don’t give in quietly.
