Dolly Parton Announces “Threads: My Songs in Symphony” Concert Experience

Dolly Parton is bringing her iconic song catalog to life in a brand-new way with the “Threads: My Songs in Symphony” concert experience. This multi-media event will pair Parton’s timeless music with local orchestras across the United States, kicking off in March 2025 and running through May 2026. Although Parton will not perform live in the shows, she will be featured on-screen throughout the performances.

The project, which was first announced in May 2024, will feature orchestral interpretations of her classic hits, combined with storytelling elements. It will premiere on March 20, 2025, in Nashville at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, where the Nashville Symphony Orchestra will perform along with other musicians and singers. Parton, now retired from touring, will make a special cameo appearance during the debut concert.

After the Nashville opener, “Threads: My Songs in Symphony” will visit cities like Pittsburgh, Cleveland, San Diego, and Phoenix. Each show will partner with a local orchestra, creating a unique concert experience for every location. Tickets for the Nashville premiere go on sale November 1, with on-sale dates for the other performances to be announced soon.

Reflecting on the project, Parton said, “The threads of my life are woven together through my songs. That’s why this project is so special to me. It’s all about sharing my music and my musical journey with audiences in a new way.”

Parton continues to remain active with various projects. Her Rockstar album is currently on the Grammy ballot, and her latest book, Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, was released on October 17. In November, she will release Dolly Parton & Family: Smoky Mountain DNA – Family, Faith & Fables, an album featuring her family members.
