Doechii Teases Comedy Central Show Denial Is a River with Hilarious Sketch Featuring ScHoolboy Q and Zack Fox

Rising rap sensation Doechii is kicking off 2025 with a comedic twist. The Florida-born artist, fresh off a breakout year, is set to debut her rumored Comedy Central show, Denial Is a River, on January 2. Adding to the excitement, she dropped a hilarious New Year’s Eve sketch, “Can I Hit That?”, featuring rapper ScHoolboy Q and comedian Zack Fox.

A High-Pressure Conversation
In the clip, ScHoolboy Q steals the spotlight with a laid-back entrance, lighting a joint on the kitchen stove before joining Doechii at the table. The scene unfolds with Doechii explaining her “alpha female” status and how her partner doesn’t drink or smoke—claims quickly challenged when Zack Fox bursts onto the scene.

Fox, known for his off-the-wall humor, instantly undermines Doechii’s glowing remarks, asking Q, “Woah, is that zaza?”—slang for high-grade marijuana.

Doechii brushes it off, calling Fox a comedian, but the tension escalates as he continues eyeing the joint, fixating on its stubby size:

“It’s the roach. I love when it’s the roach, and it’s almost done and it tickles your lip a little bit.”

Despite Fox’s relentless attempts, Q deadpans a simple “No.” The exchange leaves viewers laughing and builds anticipation for what’s to come in Denial Is a River.

A Breakout Year for Doechii
The sketch caps off an impressive 2024 for Doechii. Her Alligator Bites Never Heal mixtape not only cracked Billboard’s Best Albums of 2024 at No. 10 but also cemented her status as one of the industry’s hottest talents. She surged to No. 6 on Billboard’s Hottest Female Rappers list, a massive leap after failing to chart earlier in the year.

Known for blending genres and pushing boundaries, Doechii is proving she’s more than just a musical powerhouse—she’s a multi-talented entertainer ready to dominate television screens.

What to Expect from Denial Is a River
Though details about the show remain under wraps, the sketch’s sharp humor hints at a series packed with satirical observations, celebrity cameos, and chaotic laughs. With Doechii’s rising star power and collaborations with comedic heavyweights like Zack Fox, the show could mark a bold new chapter in her career.

Fans won’t have to wait long to find out. Denial Is a River premieres January 2 on Comedy Central.
