Disturbed To Pause Touring After Controversial European Run

The heavy‑rock outfit Disturbed is hitting pause. As their European “Sickness 25” tour comes to a close, frontman David Draiman announced the band will be taking “a nice, long break” and admitted they are uncertain when their next tour will commence.

The anniversary run, celebrating 25 years since their original breakthrough, has been marred by public backlash. Draiman’s social‑media image of him writing “Fuck Hamas” on an Israeli military shell ignited a wave of protests and criticism, culminating in a cancelled show in Belgium over security concerns. The controversy followed the group across the continent, and even a live address about unity during an Amsterdam concert did little to quell tensions.

Now, after concluding their latest performances, the band are pressing plug‑pull on touring for the time being. While they have no new dates booked, guitarist Dan Donegan revealed earlier in the year that the group already “have a lot of stuff recorded” for their next studio project. For fans, that means the road is open for new music—but the stage is likely dark for a while.

In the end, Disturbed are recalibrating: after pushing through a fraught tour, they’re stepping back, dealing with the fallout, and perhaps redirecting their energies back into the studio. When (or if) the lights come back on for live shows remains to be seen.
