Disney’s Newest Feature Film “Encanto” May be its Best Yet

Released the day before Thanksgiving, Encanto, Walt Disney Animation Studio’s 60th film, centers on the Madrigals, a family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a place called the Encanto.

In a tale of magic, family, and unity, Encanto already has a 93% “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes from over 80 reviews.

“Disney’s 60th animated feature is among their best,” said Scott Mendelson in his review of the film, professional film critic and box-office analyst. “Even with some grim undertones and periodically downbeat thematic elements, it is a generally joyful and thrillingly colorful fantasy that’ll once again make us realize how much visual wonder we take for granted in modern animation.”

Many other critics, as well as general audiences, have shared similarly enamored responses to the story, songs, and overall experience of Encanto.

The film, a perfect event for families of all backgrounds this Thanksgiving weekend, is in theaters nationwide.
