The 31st class of the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame will be inducted at the Brooklyn at Barclays Center on April 8th. This year’s honorees are Chicago, Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, Steve Miller, and N.W.A… There are 312 total members enshrined in the hall, 113 of these are groups.
All this week we’ll spotlight one of the deserving musical legends. Today we pull back the curtain on Cheap Trick. Here are three fun facts about this terrific act…
Cheap Trick is not from Chicago as most people think, rather they are from Rockford, IL.
Bun E. Carlos, the original and longtime drummer, filed a federal lawsuit over a dispute a few years back and is not scheduled to be at the ceremony.
The name of the group came from the boys attending a ‘Slade’ concert in the early days of their collaboration. They were called ‘Fuse’, but one of the members said that the Slade group used ‘every cheap trick’ in the book to get the audience on their feet, thus that’s how they got their name!
