After nearly five years, Deftones are roaring back with Private Music, their 10th studio album, set to drop August 22 via Reprise/Warner. The lead single, “My Mind Is a Mountain,” is already out, offering fans a moody, expansive glimpse into the band’s latest sonic evolution.
Private Music follows 2020’s critically acclaimed Ohms and reunites Deftones with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who previously helmed Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan. Recorded between California and Nashville, the album blends the band’s signature heaviness with atmospheric textures that hint at fresh creative terrain.
To support the release, Deftones will launch the second leg of their 2025 North American tour beginning August 22 in Vancouver. The tour features an eclectic lineup of openers, including Phantogram, Idles, and The Barbarians of California, with two massive co-headlining dates alongside System of a Down in Toronto this September.
Stops include major cities across Canada and the U.S., as well as high-profile festival appearances at Shaky Knees, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock.
With Private Music, Deftones prove they’re not just revisiting their legacy—they’re expanding it. After three decades, the Sacramento alt-metal pioneers are still pushing boundaries, and fans wouldn’t want it any other way.
