Corey Seager to Miss Rest of Dodgers’ Season

What some thought was just a day off for Corey Seager turned into a season-ending injury as it has been announced that he needs the infamous Tommy John surgery. This is all because of a sprain in his right elbow (ulnar collateral ligament) that can’t be healed otherwise.

Seager has had a major impact on the Dodgers since his time in the big leagues. They win less than half of their games when he’s not in the lineup and that’s in part because they miss out on a career .302 hitter with 52 home runs and 179 RBI.

He’s expected to miss the rest of this season but the thought is that he should return in 2019. This is in part because his throwing arm doesn’t undergo the same amount of use as the typical Tommy John surgery recipient (pitchers).
