Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour reached a historic milestone with two record-breaking performances at India’s Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26, 2025. The British band attracted over 220,000 fans across both nights, marking the largest stadium concerts of the 21st century.
These monumental shows also marked Coldplay’s inaugural performances in India, a country where their fan base has grown significantly over the years. The overwhelming demand for tickets led to rapid sellouts, prompting the addition of extra dates to accommodate eager fans.
The Music of the Spheres Tour, which began in March 2022, has been a global success, selling over 12 million tickets and grossing more than $1 billion, making it the second highest-grossing tour in music history. Following their performances in India, Coldplay is set to continue their tour with shows in Hong Kong and South Korea, before heading to North America for a series of sold-out stadium concerts starting in May 2025.
The band’s record-breaking achievements in India underscore their global appeal and the universal language of their music, leaving an indelible mark on the country’s live music scene.
