Coi Leray on How Drake Inspired Her To Make Music

According to hiphopdx.com, Coi Leray who is recently coming off of a performance at Governors Ball Music Festival in New York last month, recently opened up about how Drake inspired her to get into music in the first place. Leray released her debut album, Trendsetter in April and on June 24th released her latest single, “Involved”. Now she is off to headline the Monster Energy Tour where she will perform at major cities across the country, with the last show in San Diego on August 25th. However, the star would never have accomplished any of it if it weren’t for being inspired by Drakes Sprite Limelight Campaign where Leray was one of those selected to promote the campaign. In the sprite campaign artists were asked to create their own original song using the same hook, Leray created her own Sprite commercial and was eventually picked as one of the artists. She talked about how the commercial inspired her to want her own music career and is quoted in saying that, “Drake’s commercial is one of the most iconic ones that I personally love, When his body kind of came out, and then came back together in a 3D motion. I feel like 3D artwork started to blow up within the last couple of years, but Drake was ahead of the game. He was way ahead of the game, you know? That was inspiring and is something that I will always remember for sure.”
