Since the weather is perfect for concerts once again, more fans are looking to go see some of their favorite bands live in person. According to a study completed by FinanceBuzz, Classic Rock music is the most costly music genre to attend live events for. In order to do this FinanceBuzz made use of concert industry data for 800 of the top touring acts for the years of 2017-2021, and what they found was on average a classic rock live experience would cost $119.14. The next closest music genre by average price ended up being pop music at $100.65. However, when it comes down to total ticket sales, the opposite is true. Meaning that Pop music generated $5.29 billion dollars while Classic Rock generated $3.55 billion in sales. If you are a classic Rock fan you should be prepared to pay up if you are looking to see your favorite genre live.
