Forget fresh cut roses, chocolates or red wine. Chip Gaines gave wife Joanna Gaines the sweetest present this year. The father-of-five shared a photo to Instagram on Valentine’s Day of one of the Magnolia Market silos in Waco, Texas decorated with a red spray paint etching of a giant heart with an arrow striking through. The photo, taken the night before, shows a construction lift mid-air, in front of the design. He writes in the caption: “Jo loves love notes! And I love @joannagaines. So I went on a late night mission here at the silos in Waco to try and put out a beacon to her heart.. so many memories in the books sweet girl, and SOO many more to come.”
So sweet! And this isn’t the first time Chip Gaines left Joanna a sappy message on one of the silos. Last Valentine’s day, he had “Chip <3’s Jo” spray painted on in John Deere Green. Twitter users were quick to pick up on his genius color choice. In the country song John Deere Green by Joe Diffie, there’s a lyric that reads: “He wrote Billy Bob loves Charlene in letters three foot high/ And the whole town said that he should’ve use red/ But it looked good to Charlene in John Deere Green.” Looks like it also looked good to Joanna in John Deere Green, too!
Looks like last year’s grand gesture became a tradition, or maybe Chip actually wanted to try red spray paint this year. Either way, it’s too cute! In terms of how these lovebirds will be celebrating today, they’ll probably just be hanging with their kids. “We know Valentine’s Day is typically passed off as a romantic holiday, but to be honest, it’s way more fun with kids. Kiddos LOVE Valentine’s Day,” Joanna Gaines wrote in a Magnolia blog post. Honestly, not too shabby, especially since Valentine’s Day should be about celebrating with all loved ones, not just significant others. Looking forward for the debut of Magnolia TV!
