According to usatoday.com, the Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa missed Tuesday night’s game against the Kansas City Royals due to an unspecified medical problem. The team stated that the 77 year old manager would skip the game on the recommendation of his doctors and would undergo further testing o Wednesday. His absence wasn’t announced until an hour prior to the first pitch. La Russa showed no sign of issues during his pregame session with reporters and while speaking with Chicago general manager Rick Hahn and former Oakland Athletics Dave Stewart prior to the game. Bench coach Miguel Cairo, stepped up as acting manager and stated, “We’re going to find out what is going on, and hopefully he’s going to be fine and he’s back to do his duties, We are going to keep him in our thoughts and hopefully everything is fine.”
