Chicago Cubs Your 2016 World Series Champions

And it started with a bang. Dexter Fowler led off game seven of the World Series last night with a home run, the first time this has ever been done. The Cubs would pull away at times, but the Indians always seemed to claw back until there just wasn’t enough time.

The Cubs would seemingly pull away with home runs from Baez and Ross in the middle innings, but it was a clutch two run home run from Rajai Davis to tie it up in the eighth.

Both teams went to their bullpen early with Kyle Hendricks and Corey Kluber each not lasting through the fifth inning. Instead, it was a plethora of relief appearances that would lead the Cubs to their first World Series championship since 1908.

Aroldis Chapman would get the win last night while Mike Montgomery got the one out save. Ben Zobrist was named the World Series MVP. Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs, your 2016 World Series champions!
