CTV and WE have announced that the beloved and iconic The Muppets© Disney including Miss Piggy and Gonzo, TV personalities and podcast hosts Drew Scott and wife Linda Phan, singer-songwriter Lennon Stella, and NHL all-star P.K. Subban are joining the star-studded list of celebrities confirmed for WE CELEBRATE: CLASS OF 2020. Also set to join the celebration with spirited contributions are 6x JUNO Award-winning rock band Arkells with a special surprise appearance, and Grammy® award-winning singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor. Hosted by Lilly Singh, the one-hour primetime special airs Saturday, June 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on CTV and everywhere CTV content can be found.
From valedictorian addresses and one-of-a-kind performances to heartfelt surprises, WE CELEBRATE: CLASS OF 2020 commemorates both students and educators who have been making a difference throughout the school year, and who continue to step up to support their communities during COVID-19.
Previously announced celebrities featured in WE CELEBRATE: CLASS OF 2020 include: Alessia Cara, Selena Gomez, Winnie Harlow, Joe Jonas, Shawn Mendes, Shay Mitchell, Natalie Portman, and Jacob Tremblay, with performances by Brett Kissel, Julia Michaels and JP Saxe with The Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra from Richmond, B.C., and Johnny Orlando. Plus, ETALK reporters Tyrone Edwards and Chloe Wilde and L.A. correspondent Liz Trinnear, alongside WE Co-founders Craig Kielburger and Marc Kielburger, also join in the celebration.
The special also features My Message to the class of 2020 which includes inspirational messages from National Chief Perry Bellegarde – Assembly of First Nations, Nav Bhatia, Anna Cathcart, Classified, Sarain Fox, Giacomo Gianniotti, Chris Hadfield, Rick Hansen, Shawn Hook, Tom Jackson, Rupi Kaur, Sarah McLachlan, Kardinal Offishall, Penny Oleksiak, Serena Ryder, Tyler Shaw, SonReal, and Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine.
“We can’t let Canada’s class of 2020 end their school year without celebrating all of their incredible achievements. These young people aren’t afraid to dream big and even during this challenging time, they have continued looking out for others,” said Lilly Singh. “To all of the students across Canada who are disappointed about missing their graduation ceremony or prom, don’t worry, we got you!”
