Gregg Allman passed away May 27th, 2017, leaving a hole in the heart of southern rock fans across America. Gregg was considered the captain of the Allman Brothers Band and joins band member Butch Truck and brother Duane in that rock and roll band in the sky.
Although Gregg will be missed, many of his friends haven’t forgotten him, planning a tribute called “Southern Blood: Celebrating Gregg Allman.” The festivities are scheduled for January 24th in New York City at the legendary City Winery.
There will be a nice dinner planned, with a few stories to share, then a wonderful concert. The date again is January 24th, at 8 pm. Scheduled to perform are ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Warren Haynes, Gregg’s son Devon Allman, Graham Nash, and Alison Krauss.
