According to countryliving.com, Carrie Underwood has been singing the Sunday Night Football theme song since 2013, and recently confirmed that she will be returning this year for her tenth season of singing the theme song. She made the announcement via a promotional video showing the past decade of openers alongside a post stating, “10 years and we’re still going strong, @snfonnbc! See you Sunday nights beginning in September! 🏈” The partnership between Carrie Underwood and the NFL seems to be a perfect fit at the star had this to say to Taste of Country, “I love being the voice of Sunday Night Football because I grew up watching football from birth. I’m from Oklahoma – we’re a football state. It’s just a part of the country that everybody has their teams and there’s such an energy about it. We would drive down to Dallas and watch the Cowboys play whenever we could. There’s just something about being at a live sporting event or watching it on TV. You have your favorites. They have their rivals. There’s an excitement to it that really, it’s unlike anything else, so being a small part of that is absolutely amazing.” The first Sunday Night Football game will be airing on September 11th with a matchup between the Buccaneers and the Cowboys on NBC or Peacock!
