Carrie Underwood has had quite the eventful past few weeks. Her record breaking sixth studio album, Cry Pretty, has made her the first female country artist to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Artist 100 chart.
It is not often that country artists hold this title. And typically, country music has been dominated by men. Before Underwood, nine other artists in the genre have earned this honor since the chart was created in 2014. Artists such as Blake Shelton, Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, and Jason Aldean, to name a few.
While this is a huge milestone for Underwood and country music, the record-breaking doesn’t stop there. Cry Pretty reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, which makes Underwood the first female country artist to have four albums reach No. 1—and it also had the biggest solo female album debut of 2018, which leaves Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy in the dust for the title.
