Carly Pearce Squashes Rumors of Feud with Maren Morris Amid New Collaboration

Carly Pearce, the voice behind “Hummingbird,” recently set the record straight on X, addressing the swirling rumors of a rift between her and fellow country star Maren Morris. The speculation gained momentum following the announcement of Pearce’s upcoming duet with Ryan Hurd, Morris’ ex-husband. Given their shared history, fans were quick to conjecture about the dynamics between the artists, especially after Pearce was rumored to have unfollowed Morris on social media following her departure from the country music scene.

In her post, Pearce emphasized the longstanding friendship between her and Hurd, dating back over a decade, and clarified that the collaboration came at the behest of her label for a tribute album honoring Tom Petty. She urged fans to refrain from reading into the situation, stating, “STOP making something out of nothing!”

The tribute project, titled Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty, is poised to be a heartfelt homage to the rock legend, featuring a roster of country luminaries including Dolly Parton and Luke Combs. Pearce and Hurd’s rendition of “Breakdown” promises to be a standout track on the album, slated for release on May 31.

As Pearce gears up for the release of her fourth studio album, Hummingbird, her focus remains on her music and celebrating the legacy of icons like Tom Petty, steering clear of any unnecessary drama.
