The 65th annual Grammy nominations have been announced and BTS is up for best pop duo/group performance for the third year in a row with their track “My Universe.” BTS is also up for Best Music Video for “Yet to Come,” and Album of the Year as featured artists on Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres. Marking the first time that BTS has been nominated in more than one Grammy category for any given year.
When looking at the history of the best pop duo/group category, Coldplay has gotten the most nods for the category with five, followed by Maroon 5 with four, BTS with three, and The Chainsmokers and Florence + the Machine with two each. “My Universe” is only the second collaboration from two different groups to get nominated for the best pop duo/group performance.
J-Hope, RM, and Suga are also all credited as songwriters on the Coldplay album, making them album of the year nominees if BTS was listed as featured artists or not. Other nominees for the best pop duo/group performance category are ABBA’s “Don’t Shut Me Down” and three other collaborations. Camila Cabello featuring Ed Sheeran’s “Bam Bam,” Post Malone & Doja Cat’s “I Like You (A Happier Song)” and Sam Smith & Kim Petras’ “Unholy.”
