Bruce Springsteen Blasts Trump Administration During Manchester Concert

Bruce Springsteen didn’t hold back during the opening night of his European tour in Manchester, using his platform to criticize U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration. Speaking passionately between songs, Springsteen described the current American leadership as “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous,” drawing a stark contrast with the America he has long celebrated in his music.

The 75-year-old music icon continued, referencing recent political controversies involving figures like Elon Musk, and condemned what he sees as a disregard for the world’s most vulnerable. “In America, they are persecuting people for using their right to free speech,” Springsteen said. “The richest men are abandoning the world’s poorest children to sickness and death. This is happening now.”

Known for anthems like “Born to Run” and “Dancing in the Dark,” Springsteen has remained an outspoken critic of Trump since his first campaign in 2016. He doubled down during the 2024 election, endorsing Kamala Harris and warning that Trump was “running to be an American tyrant.”

As the European leg of his tour kicks off, it’s clear that The Boss’s message extends beyond the music. Springsteen continues to champion liberty, free expression, and compassion both on and off the stage.
