Britney Spears Thanks Elton John for Helping Her Gain ‘Confidence’ With Hit Duet ‘Hold Me Closer’

According to billboard.com, Britney Spears recently showed gratitude towards Elton John for the success of their duet “Hold Me Closer.” Spears took to Instagram on Monday, October 10th, to state, “Thank you @eltonjohn for giving me the confidence and believing in me to do such a cool song !!! Hold Me Closer went top 10 on the @billboard charts and #1 on the @itunes charts !!!”

The track uses elements of Elton John’s 1971 hit “Tiny Dancer” and 1992’s “The One,” and managed to peak at the number six spot on Billboard’s Hot 100. The song is Spears’ highest charting single since 2012’s “Scream and Shout” with will.i.am. “Hold Me Closer” has achieved new milestones for both artists on multiple radio charts, including top 10 on Adult Pop Airplay and the top spot for Dance/Mix Show Airplay. Last week the two shared the first official remix of “Hold Me Closer,” that featured a reimagining by British DJ and producer Joel Corry.
