The World Series embarked last night with an exciting Game 1. While the Houston Astros entered the matchup as the favorite, the Atlanta Braves defeated the Astros 6-2.
The Braves had a productive and efficient offensive evening as Adam Duvall and Jorge Soler both drove in two runs. Braves’ starting pitcher, Charlie Morton, was strong through the first two innings before he limped off the field and was declared injured and unable to play for the rest of the series. The Braves’ bullpen held the fiery Astros’ lineup to only two runs after Morton’s departure.
Now, down 1-0, the Astros look to strike back in Game 2 while still in Houston. Astros’ pitcher, Jose Urquidy, will face veteran Braves’ starter, Max Fried. Both starting pitchers posted solid numbers throughout the season and the playoffs as they hope to give their respective teams a chance to snag Game 2.
