Thursday proved to be one filled with tons of fun! There was an overtime game to start us off, a few games that went down to the final minutes and even a buzzer beater. There were also a few upsets that are definitely led to brackets being busted.
The big surprise of the first round is going to be the performance of Buffalo against Arizona. They won by over 20 points against the four seed, taking them down 89-68. They were led by Wes Clark who scored 25 points on the night. As crazy as it sounds, this one wasn’t in hand until the final five or so minutes when the lead opened up big time.
The other big upset on Thursday was the Loyola (Chicago) win over Miami. We called it the other day as they took down 64-62 thanks to a three-pointer with no time remaining to win it!
The games all day are going to be exciting but the ones we are most looking forward to are West Virginia against Murray State, Michigan State against Bucknell and Auburn against Charleston among others.
