Boosie Badazz Angry at Skip Bayless for Suggesting Ja Morant is A Crip

Boosie Badazz recently called out Skip Bayless for suggesting that Ja Morant may be associated with the Crips after his leave of absence from the Memphis Grizzlies. Boosie said via a Tweet on March 6th, “STOP @RealSkipBayless Don’t build the narrative that he’s a real gang member SMH HE NOT NO CRIP HE A PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL PLAYER who made a mistake.”

Boosie’s statement was a response to Skip stating that, “They’re asking me, ‘Are you sure he’s not that?’ Like, that’s just who he is, that he is about that life.’ And remember, he’s thrown up the Crips sign, I’ve seen him throw it up two or three times, I’ve probably missed some other times, What does that mean? Does that mean he wants to associate with the Crips? Or he got initiated by the Crips? Or he has a dream of being a Crip? I don’t know. I’m just throwing this out. Are we missing the boat here that that’s just who he’s been from the start? And we keep saying, ‘No, you’re just associated with the wrong people,’ when he’s actually part of the wrong people.”

Bayless suggested this theory about Morant’s ties to gangs on Monday’s episode of UNDISPUTED on FS1. Morant was seen showing off a weapon on Instagram Live on March fourth. After that he was suspended by the Grizzlies for two games, however, head coach Taylor Jenkins confirmed that his absence is indefinite and may be longer.

Morant himself released a statement about the incident saying, “I take full responsibility for my actions last night, I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down. I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”
