Blake Shelton Drops New Song in Celebration of an Extended Tour

The ‘King of Country” Blake Shelton already has his hands full for 2020, as the country star has announced an extension of his Friends and Heroes Tour.

“The Friends and Heroes Tour was so exciting and successful last year that I couldn’t imagine not trying something like that again,” Shelton said in a statement. “Even though every night when the show wrapped, I would tell the audience that they might never see something like this again, with these legends, my plan all along was to at least try to make that happen.”

The 2020 trek will kick off on February 13th in Portland, Oregon, and run through March.

In celebration of his tour extension, Shelton has released a new song titled “Jesus Got a Tight Grip.” He penned the introspective track alongside frequent collaborators Chase McGill, Jessi Alexander and Rhett Akins. A video of the song includes Shelton and his band, including CMA Musician of the Year nominee Jenee Fleenor. The track is one of five new songs from Shelton’s upcoming album Fully Loaded: God’s Country. The projected release date is December 13th.
