Blake Griffin has been a star for the Los Angeles Clippers since he was drafted by them many years ago but just yesterday he was traded away to the Detroit Pistons. In what was a shocking move, the Pistons received Griffin for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, and a first and second-round pick. Two extra players were included in the deal being sent to Detroit as well.
Griffin is averaging 22.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game this season and is a superstar in his own right. There is risk in this deal as he always seems to be injured. If he can be healthy next to Andre Drummond, an almost all-star though, then the Pistons could easily make the playoffs this season.
Blake Griffin is going to command over $30 million in cap space over the next few years, but Detroit doesn’t seem to mind the risk as they look to make an impact in the Eastern Conference these next few seasons.
