Legendary musician Billy Joel, 75, has postponed several upcoming concerts to recover from recent surgery and undergo physical therapy. The affected performances include shows in Detroit, Toronto, Syracuse, Salt Lake City, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Charlotte, and Milwaukee. Joel expressed regret over the postponements, emphasizing that his health must come first, but assured fans of his commitment to return to the stage.
The decision to reschedule these concerts follows an onstage fall in February during a performance in Connecticut, which necessitated surgery. Despite the incident, Joel is expected to make a full recovery and plans to resume his tour on July 5, 2025, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Addressing concerns about his well-being, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, daughter of Joel’s ex-wife Christie Brinkley, reassured fans that her “Uncle Billy” is “totally healthy” and eager to return to performing. She acknowledged Joel’s disappointment over the postponements but emphasized his positive outlook on recovery.
Fans are encouraged to retain their tickets for the rescheduled dates, as they will remain valid. For those unable to attend the new dates, refund options are available. Joel’s team appreciates the understanding and support from fans during this period and looks forward to delivering memorable performances upon his return.
