According to ultimateclassicrock.com, a scheduling coincidence made it possible for Def Lappard frontman Joe Elliott and Billy Joel to perform together at one of Billy Joel’s concerts at Detroit’s Comerica Park. Halfway through Joel’s concert he introduced the special guest Joe Elliott who simply said, “Evenin’!”, before ramping up a full rendition of his band’s 1987 hit “Pour Some Sugar on Me”. They performed for more then 38,000 fans at the ballpark, making it the third time the duo performed the song together. Joel’s show was rescheduled twice due to the pandemic, and Def Leppard and Motley Crue were in town to perform together, ultimately making the performance possible. Joel is set to play his next monthly Madison Square Garden concert on July 20th, and is set to play August 11th at Pittsburgh’s PNC Park.
