Billie Eilish Shares Her Dating Horror Story: “I’ve Been Ghosted!”

In a candid conversation on the latest episode of the BBC podcast Miss Me?, Billie Eilish opened up about a dating experience that left her baffled and frustrated. The 22-year-old pop sensation, known for her deeply personal lyrics and soulful voice, revealed to hosts Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver that she’s no stranger to modern dating woes — including being ghosted.

“I had a crazy ghosting happen actually this December. It was insane,” Eilish recounted, sharing details of her ordeal. Despite her fame and fortune, even she isn’t immune to the harsh realities of dating. “I was like, ‘Did you die? Did you literally die?’ It was somebody that I’d also known for years and had a plan, day of, on the phone, making a plan, this is my address, be there at 3 — never heard from him again. Ever. I couldn’t believe it.”

The singer, whose dating history includes rapper Brandon “Q” Adams, actor Matthew Tyler Vorce, and The Neighbourhood frontman Jesse Rutherford, didn’t hold back on her feelings about the situation. “What a f—ing little pathetic man. What a tiny little man,” Eilish exclaimed. She added, “It was literally unbelievable. To this day, never texted me again.”

Reflecting on the incident, Eilish noted that the ghoster moved on quickly: “I did see that he was dating someone, and I was like, ‘Oh.’ I didn’t know people still did that. I genuinely didn’t know people did that.”

Despite this unsettling experience, Eilish has maintained a positive outlook on her past relationships. In an unpublished excerpt from her recent Rolling Stone cover story, she spoke warmly of her ex-boyfriend Jesse Rutherford: “That’s my guy, truly one of my favorite people in the world.”

The pair split in May 2023 after less than a year together, and Eilish joked in a recent interview about her future dating plans: “I plan on never dating again. That’s not true, obviously. But no, I don’t see myself being serious with anyone until I find someone that really feels right to me, and that is not interesting to me right now.”

Beyond her dating life, Eilish has also been open about her journey with her sexuality. Discussing her song “Lunch” from her album Hit Me Hard and Soft, she revealed, “That song was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real. I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand — until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina.”

As Billie Eilish continues to navigate her career and personal life, her openness and honesty resonate with fans, proving that even global superstars face the same challenges as everyone else.
