The offseason is among us and there consistently happens to be something to talk about every week. This week is no different than the rest with a big signing and a very interesting trade happening as well. Let’s get right to them…
Yoenis Cespedes was considered the best free agent hitter in baseball this offseason and he has already signed on for the next season and three more. He signed back on to play with the Mets under a four year, $110 million deal that will net him $27.5 million on average.
The Mariners and Braves got together for a trade earlier this week. The Braves sent Max Povse and Rob Whalen for Alex Jackson. Jackson was a former first rounder pick that is still just 20 years old. While he has struggled to consistently put the ball in play, Jackson has huge power upside. There are also rumors that he might see some time back behind the plate, his position in high school.
